Diploma Course on Hindu Temple Administration and Indian Culture Soon

Towards preserving and promoting Hindu culture and tradition, Tirupati’s deemed University Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha (RSVP) has announced a one-year diploma course in temple administration and culture.

The University Vice-Chancellor Prof V Muralidhara Sarma made an official announcement in this regard on December 14, 2017.

According to Prof. Sharma, the course will a combination of legal and ritualistic procedures related to temples.

The course offers a detailed understanding of temple administration and a thorough knowledge of temple Agamas and legal procedures.

“We are planning to introduce temple administration course through online for working employees,” he informed.

Former NIMS Deputy Director Dr RVS Avadhanulu, one of the members of the expert committee, urged on the need for understanding of need for such courses among the future generation.

Avadhanulu further called on priests to make a better utilization of this course that would teach the great heritage of Indian temples.

Mr. Avadhanulu said a basic knowledge of Puranas, Vedas and Sastras is important for a better understanding of culture of Indian temples.

On the occasion, former Law Secretary of the Government of Andhra Pradesh Kalanidhi Satyanarayana Murthy urged on the need for laws related to Hindu temples.

While Prof Rani Sadasiva Murthy, the coordinator of the program, explained the content of the course, the full modalities of the program are currently under preparation and will be out soon initially for the online course targeted at full-time employees of any organizations.
