Lord Nrusimha (Lord Vishnu’s fourth incarnation) is one god, whose temples always give some adventurous and amazing experience. One such temple of the Lord is Narasimha Jharni/ Bidar Nrusmiha Swamy Temple. located at Bidar, Karnataka, around 4 km away from the Bidar city. This temple visit will be an unforgettable experience for the devotees. The specialty here is that one has to walk through a cave and move some metres in water (usually to 4-5 feet) till the tunnel end, to have the darshan of the self-manifested/swayambhu main deity. One can see two main deities, Lord Nrusimha and Shiva Linga, at the end of the tunnel. With bats all around inside the cave, hanging to the top and moving around. The stunning fact is that no devotee is harmed by bats, till date. The waters, which the devotees should have to pass through, are also said to be rich in sulfur and have healing properties.
The temple is situated under the Manichola hill range found in a 3oo m deep tunnel. The place at main deity can accommodate only eight people at a time, and the rest have to wait in water for their turn.
